Interesting Day...

We went down to the "festival" yesterday... Actually it's the Homecoming picnic at the church across the road. We got funnel cakes and then went home. We went down again today because my mom and cousins came up. We played some BINGO with my mom and ate and played a few games. Austin seemed to enjoy himself... We played the Chinese basket lottery game ... It's the game where you put your tickets in the bucket corresponding with the basket that you wish to win... There were a lot of cool stuff... Hopefully we win something! I won goblet glasses last year and I love them! And it's cheap too, you get a page of 25 chances for $5!

Now I gotta get through this week and We have a wedding on Saturday to go to! I can't wait, I'm sure it will be a lot of fun! Maybe it will give Steve the idea that it's NOT SO BAD!

Prettiest Mom

Prettiest Mom

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Should Children Witness Childbirth?

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call. The
house was very dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-yr old girl to
hold a flashlight high over her Mommy so he could see while he helped
deliver the baby. Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked. Heidi
pushed and pushed and after a little while, Connor was born. The
paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom.
Connor began to cry. The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help
and asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what she thought about what she had
just witnessed.

Kathleen quickly responded, 'He shouldn't have crawled in there in the
first place......smack his ass again!'

If you don't laugh at this one, there's no hope for you!

Every Woman Should Have/Know...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..

something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a youth she's content to leave behind....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a feeling of control over her destiny...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend without;
ruining the friendship...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.. .
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
or a charming inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

Nine Words Women Use

Nine words women use...

1.) Fine : This is the word women use to end an argument when they are
right and you need to shut up.

2.) Five Minutes : If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour.
Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more
minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3.) Nothing : This is the calm before the storm. This means something,
and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing
usually end in fine.

4.) Go Ahead : This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5.) Loud Sigh : This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement
often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an
idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing
with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6.) That's Okay : This is one of the most dangerous statements a women
can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard
before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7.) Thanks : A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say
you're welcome.

8.) Whatever : Is a women's way of saying I'm giving up on this for now.

9.) Don 't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning
this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but
is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's
wrong?' For the woman's response refer to #3.

Life...

We went to the Daughtry concert last night at the Clearfield County Fair. It was great! I had so much fun even just walking through the fair and had a blast at the concert. I think next year we'll take Austin, hopefully there isn't a concert we want to see... even so we can still take him and bring someone along for help when the concert is going on... My mom got these digital camera binoculors for my birthday and we used those and it was like I was right in the front row... you could see everything perfectly clear. THe pictures were kind of blurry but I don't have that steady of a hand to work something like that... The pictures turned out okay though, I think they would have been better if it wasn't so dark but for it being night and dark they did pretty well. I think I had more fun at this concert than the one last year... I loved this birthday present!!!

So... what else is new in my life? I'm engaged!!! I'm sooo happy! I can't wait to get married! I am sooo aching to start planning this! Steve's like every guy though... they think it's going to cost too much and we don't have money for a wedding right now... Well.. since I'm a girl and I've been dreaming of my wedding day since I was like 10 lol... even though every girl's dream is to have a princess fairytale lavish wedding, there are ways to achieve that but without that lavish cost lol. All he needs to do is sit back and relax and let me work my bargain magic lol... I just wish he could believe that I can plan an inexpensive beautiful day! Hell.. I was in Walmart the other day to get a birthday gift for a woman at work and was in the clearance aisle and they had invitation kits there. They were the same ones that I was looking at online. The oriental trading website had these kits for 17.96 for 50 so figuring that you'd need at least 2 packs... not sure of how many people he'd invite, that would be with shipping around 50.00. Other websites compare at over 100.00 for just 100 invitations and envelopes... atleast the kits have everything you need. Well anyways getting to the exciting part... I got 2 sets of the exact same invitations that I was looking at (100 count) for a whopping $15.00!!!! So even paying for the ink to print them I'm still under $50.00! And that ink can be used for anything else that we need to do like.. programs!

I know it's a little soon to be thinking of this considering that he wants to get married in like 5 years or something... (the whole "it costs $10,000 for a wedding" idea)... It's never too soon to start picking up stuff that you can save hundreds of dollars on ... right?

Guys are just weird and I really don't think they understand a woman's mind and their way of thinking and how they can handle things a way that no guy can...

Believe me, I don't need some big lavish $50,000 wedding to make me happy! If guests aren't happy just to come see us get married then I'm sorry. But sometimes you have to work with what you have and I'm sure even saving 50-100$ a month or even whatever extra there is, things will work out fine!

So.. I know our wedding is projected in his mind in about 2015 I'm really hoping for something a little closer to the year we're currently in ... you know like 2009! That's normally how long people are engaged for is about a year on average.

Anyways ... we'll see.
